Welcome to the Brigade!

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We welcome your child to THE BRIGADE.  We begin recruitment every New Year, right after school reopens, and also welcome new Boys from other schools as well.  Please pass the word around and encourage other parents to give their child/ren an opportunity to participate in a balance of healthy social, physical, mental and spiritual activities.

THE BRIGADE instills discipline and promotes good character building.  We do not profess to have an instant magic formula but past experiences reveal that Boys who stay with THE BRIGADE for a number of years become healthy, tough, physically fit, well-mannered, well-groomed and disciplined in the process.

Some parents have the attitude that all the BOYS do is play, play and play and fail their studies.  In THE BRIGADE, the things BOYS do are supervised and play is recognised.  They are rewarded when they play hard.  They are also rewarded when they do well in their studies, as reflected in our incentive scheme, the Treasure Chest.  Our BOYS can also find our GOLD FISH challenge exciting!  Our years of experience also reveals that those BOYS who remain actively involved do very well; passing with flying colours in all their exams.

Our tentative program for the year will be as exciting as possible.  Educational visits where successful arrangements can be made, as well as weekly drill, badge-work, and the ever-popular outdoor camping -- where we still camp out near a beach and experience the real freshness of nature, archery, orienteering, camp-craft, ATV rides and safety training. Board games are also gaining momentum.

All our programmes have been lined up to stimulate the children's thought, generate creativity and develop their various skills and handiwork.  We keep parents informed by circular, when necessary, on our various incentive schemes, to assist your child work at it and earn their respective awards.

If you have any further queries, please call the NCOs or Officers at 265 3366 / 8766 073.
